MANDAN, ND—Custer Health announced that the Otto Bremer Trust has awarded grant funds in the amount of $50,000 to Custer Health. The funds will be used to support the Mandan Good Neighbor Project by supplementing staff time and program supplies, as well as creating a syringe disposal kiosk that will be located in the community.
Custer Health will be conducting a syringe exchange program at its Mandan location in early 2018. The Mandan Good Neighbor Project is the first syringe exchange program in North Dakota. A meeting introducing the project will be held from 2-3 p.m. on December 12 at 403 Burlington Street SE in Mandan, followed by a presentation from Jeremy Kelly, founder of the program in Moorhead, Minn., from 3-4 p.m.
