Custer Health will be providing a vaccine clinic for adolescents in June. This free COVID-19 vaccination clinic for individuals aged 12-15 will run from 3-6 p.m. on June 9 at 1100 32nd Avenue SE in Mandan.
Individuals wanting to receive a COVID-19 vaccine through a Custer Health vaccine clinic are asked to sign up for an appointment at www.ndvax.org. Walk-ins are welcome, however, any individual under the age of 18 must provide parental consent to be vaccinated.
“We are optimistic that opening COVID vaccination availability to adolescents will help push us towards the ultimate goal of herd immunity,” said Custer Health Administrator Erin Ourada. “The COVID vaccines have been proven to be safe and effective. Tens of millions of people have been fully vaccinated, with millions more having received at least their first dose. This vaccine continues to be the only way we can reasonably expect to move past this pandemic safely.”
Custer Health’s 1100 32nd Ave location in Mandan is just off Memorial Highway and near Midway Lanes. The event will be conducted in Units D&E. Parking for this event will be primarily along the street. However, overflow parking will be available with Midway Lanes. Attendees are asked to verify the location prior to arrival. More information about vaccine clinics is available at https://www.custerhealth.com/vaccine-information.
“Earlier this week, CDC also recommended that COVID vaccinations no longer needed to observe the 14-day window that had previously been recommended for other vaccinations,” said Ourada. “This change makes getting a COVID-19 vaccine easier, especially for individuals in the 12-15 age group.”
