Custer Health Providing COVID-19 Tests Through Its 3 Offices, Will Conduct Walkthrough Distribution Event in Mandan on Feb. 16

Custer Health will begin providing at-home COVID-19 tests at no out-of-pocket cost on Tuesday, February 15, through each of its three offices in the region.

Tests are limited to two per person, though one individual may pick up tests for a household. No identification is required to pick up tests from these locations. Individuals entering any of Custer Health’s offices (in Mandan, Carson and Beulah) are required to wear masks while in the building.

Custer Health’s offices are located at 403 Burlington Street SE in Mandan, 106 2nd Avenue NE in Carson, and 1101 3rd Avenue NW in Beulah. Custer Health offices will be closed on Monday, February 21, in observation of Presidents Day. Traditionally the Mandan office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you want to pick up tests from the Beulah (701-873-4433) or Carson (701-622-3591) office, please call in advance to set up a pick-up time.

“The availability of at-home tests is going to be critical for the communities we serve. If you are a close contact, or if you are not feeling well, you can get test results very quickly to help make informed decisions on your next steps,” said Custer Health Administrator Erin Ourada. “If your organization wants to become a distribution site, we encourage you to contact us and we’ll help get you set up with tests.”

Custer Health will be conducting a walkthrough distribution event for the public on Wednesday, February 16, from Noon to 5 p.m. at 1100 32nd Avenue SE in Mandan. Individuals wanting

COVID-19 tests do not need to pre-register. They will be given tests on a first-come, first-served basis according to the number of people in their household, while supplies last.

Additionally, organizations interested in receiving a bulk shipment of COVID-19 tests and becoming a distribution site are asked to contact the Mandan Custer Health office at (701) 667-3370.

More than 1.5 million tests have been purchased by the North Dakota Department of Health to be distributed. Shipments of these tests will arrive throughout February and March. An information sheet containing test particulars, including what to do if testing positive or negative, will be available in English and Spanish. This information will also be available online at www.custerhealth.com.

There are three types of tests available:

  • Celltrion – 2 tests per box, authorized for individuals aged 14 years and older.
  • iHealth – 2 tests per box, authorized for individuals aged 2 years and older.
  • FlowFlex – 1 test per box, authorized for individuals aged 2 years and older.
