Custer Health Conducting COVID-19 Testing Event in New Salem on November 13

Custer Health is conducting a walk-up COVID-19 testing event in New Salem on Friday, November 13. The testing event will be held at the New Salem Ambulance Bay (115 N Fifth Street in New Salem) from 2-4 p.m. unless testing supplies are exhausted sooner. The testing event is open to all ages, and is first-come, first-served.

“We are looking forward to providing testing event for the citizens of New Salem and the surrounding area,” said Custer Health Administrator Erin Ourada. “We would like to encourage everyone who will receive testing to make sure they wear a mask during the event, keep themselves social distanced appropriately and use hand sanitizer upon getting back into their vehicles.”

Pre-registration for the COVID-19 testing event is available at https://testreg.nd.gov/. This process is not required to be completed in order to receive a test, but is recommended to speed up your overall testing event experience. Please complete the entire questionnaire. Pre-registration does not guarantee test availability. Testing events are subject to change. Please visit www.facebook.com/custerhealth or www.custerhealth.com prior to events to ensure there are no changes to the event.

On the day of the event, individuals wanting testing are asked to wear a face covering while attending the event. To reach the Ambulance Bay from Interstate 94, head south from the offramp, and turn left onto Highway 10, before taking a right onto Fifth Street. The Ambulance Bay is a blue building on the left side of the road. Vehicles can be parked along the street. Individuals are asked to enter the building through the main entrance door and will exit through the alley door upon completing testing.

There is no fee associated with the collection of samples and subsequent COVID-19 tests and an individual’s health insurance is not processed. Response times for receiving test results may vary, depending on the capacity of the testing lab. Positive test results will be shared within 24-72 hours, while negative results may take as long as five to seven days. Visit https://www.health.nd.gov/covidtestresults for test result information.
